Salem Halloween tours reviews

One review from each of the three best-known walks here, as GetYourGuide prints them. Each card says which walk it belongs to; the score for that walk is on its own page.

★★★★★Dianne was wonderful. Animated, warm, and completely alive to the stories of Salem. She made history feel less like the past and more like something still breathing in the streets around us. Her eye contact drew you in, her passion never wavered, and her love for this remarkable town was impossible not to feel. A beautiful walk through Salem’s history, led by someone who clearly carries a piece of it with her.

Before you book an October walk

Five things people ask about this kind of walk, answered from the same catalogue the table above is built from.

How busy does it actually get?

Salem has about 45 000 residents. In October 2025 it drew 1.1 million unique visitors, and 96 600 of them were downtown on Halloween day alone. That is the figure to plan around.

When does it get dark?

Sunset is 18:25 on 1 October and 17:38 on the 31st; full dark follows about half an hour later. An early-evening walk in late October is a night walk.

What is on besides the tours?

Haunted Happenings runs the whole month. The Grand Parade is on 1 October, 18:30 to 20:30, free to watch; on the 31st there are markets on Derby Square and Salem Common from 10:00, and a drone show at 22:00.

What about parking and road closures?

The 2026 street closures, satellite lots, shuttle hours and garage rates are not published yet. We will put them here when the city publishes them, rather than repeat last year’s.

Is the small group Halloween day tour to Salem from Boston worth it?

It is the only product here built for October alone: eight hours from Boston with pickup, $385, and no reviews yet because the season has not run. Every local walk on this page starts at $25.
