One name, two very different walks: ghost stories through the old port after dark, or the 1692 trials walked in daylight with a historian. Every tour in town in one table — rating, price, meeting point and an honest verdict. Guided walks from $24.
Six ways to cut the same catalogue. Each one opens a table of every tour of that kind, with our pick already chosen at the top.
Six of the 34, chosen for a first evening: the one most people should book, the best rating for the money, the busiest, the best film walk and the two ways into 1692. The full table is below them.

All 34, sortable by rating, price or our verdict. 23 of them have a page of their own; the rest sit in the table because the partner publishes too little about them to fill one.

The two halves of the catalogue answer different questions. This is the difference in plain terms, with the walk we would book for each.
A guided walk runs $24 to $80 for one adult. Anything above that is buying something other than a walk — transport from Boston, a workshop, a private guide.
The short evening walks and the cheapest way into 1692. Ninety minutes, a guide, no extras.
Eleven tours, from $10.
Two hours rather than ninety minutes, or a named speciality: the pub crawl, the film walk, true crime.
Ten tours, from $30.
Something other than a walk is in the price: transport from Boston, a workshop, a photo session, a private guide.
Thirteen tours, from $50.
One review from each of the four busiest walks, as GetYourGuide prints them. No score of ours: each card says which walk it belongs to, and that walk’s own page carries the partner’s rating for it.
Dianne was wonderful. Animated, warm, and completely alive to the stories of Salem. She made history feel less like the past and more like something still breathing in the streets around us. Her eye contact drew you in, her passion never wavered, and her love for this remarkable town was impossible not to feel. A beautiful walk through Salem’s history, led by someone who clearly carries a piece of it with her.
Stacy was excellent. She was a great tour guide. Thanks for a fun experience!
The tour was fun, Conor was knowledgeable and very entertaining! I loved learning about the history of Salem and it was cool to learn about other stuff other than the Salem witch trials. The ghost stories were great
MIKE was the best guide ever! He was knowledgeable while also making the tour enjoyable! Fantastic time and highly recommend.
The eight things people ask before they book a Salem ghost tour.
A guided walk is $24 to $50 for one adult, and half of them are $30 or less. Day trips from Boston, which include the transport, run from $120. Every price on this site is a "from" price for one adult ticket.
In October, yes — Salem draws over a million visitors that month and the walks sell out. The rest of the year a day or two is usually enough. Every walk we list cancels free up to 24 hours ahead, so booking early costs nothing.
They are storytelling walks, not haunted houses: a guide, the streets and the documented cases. The ones that lean hardest on fear are the late walks that hand out detection gear.
Yes. The Witch Trials Memorial, the Charter Street Burying Point beside it and Proctor’s Ledge are free and open without a guide. What a walk adds is someone who can tell you what you are looking at.
Every operator in our table says the walk runs rain or shine. Heavy weather is refunded by the partner rather than by the guide on the night.
By weight of evidence, History and Hauntings: 4.82 from 821 reviews, two hours, from $36 — more people have rated it than any other walk here. If the price matters more, Voodoo, Vampires, and Ghosts rates higher still at 4.85, over 224 reviews, and costs $25.
Not among the walks. Every guided ghost and witch-trial tour here stays on the street and looks at the houses from outside. What is indoors is the broom-making workshop, the costume photo session and the tarot reading, and the Witch House, which is a museum you enter on its own ticket.
Three of the thirty-four. The haunted pub crawl is adults only and asks for ID, the true-crime walk is set at thirteen and over, and the tarot-reading tour is for adults. Every other tour in the table takes children.
Live dates, seats and the final price come from GetYourGuide, in their own styling. Nothing is charged on this site.
The calendar is set to History and Hauntings Guided Walking Tour, our pick of the 34. Every other tour has its own on its page.
